Wherryman’s Way – Educational Resources for Key Stage 3 and 4 Geography
In partnership with Future Radio, Norfolk County Council have produced a series of sound bites for use in Secondary Geography classrooms.
The sound bites have been recorded and edited into clips of less than 2 minutes and can be used to assist in the teaching of 4 key strands of Geography:
· Economic Activity
· Rivers
· Sustainable Development
· Tourism
The teaching resource has been designed to be used flexibly across curriculum areas and is an opportunity for students to listen to real opinions from a variety of real stakeholders.
How to use the resource: a 2 page summary with ideas of how to use the sound files with students
Excel spreadsheet: summarising information relating to content of each sound bite
Google Earth Resource: a google earth file with all of the sound bites tagged along the River Yare
Recorded by Terry Lee (Station Manager at Future Radio).
Written by Ben Utting (Geography Advanced Skills Teacher from Sprowston Community High School) and Nell Seal (Adviser Sustainable Schools from the Environmental and Outdoor Learning Team).
The production of this resource has been made possible by support from The Broads Authority Sustainable Development Fund. Thanks to all stakeholders who participated in these recordings.
