Rosie came on to the show this week to publicise the charity raising event she has organised for Friday 10th September in Norwich. She recently spent a long period of time in the Cancer Unit at Addenbrookes Hospital and was very aware that whilst there are wards for children and adults facilities for teenagers recovering from the intensive treatment are sadly lacking.

This is a recent addition to the Norwich castle Museum and it displays, in graphic detail the day to day life of its previous role as a prison up to 1887. Prisoners were kept in very harsh conditions, often for very minor offences. For some it was a stage towards deportation to Australia, for others a shorter trip to the hangmans noose. This is a splendid exhibition which lets you experience what feels like to be in a cell. Children can try on prison clothes.

The YMCA has done great things in Norwich looking after the needs of young people. There are growing numbers of youngsters who need a roof over their head and someone around to sort out lifes problems. You will have seen the new residential units that were built near the Bus Station. Now the time has come to rebuild on the old site and bring it up to a standard in order to provide additional accomodation where young people can learn how to live independantly.
