Ted Ellis was well known locally and nationally as a naturalist through his articles and broadcasts on radio & television. Supporting him was his wife Phyllis with whom they brought up five children at their home at Wheatfen Broad near Surlingham in Norfolk. Living in often very basic circumstances they brought the life of the Fen to a wider audience and their work continues today under the auspices of the Ted Ellis Trust.

Journalist Pete Kelley tape recorded Phyllis's memoirs in the later years of her life, and together with members of the family, has put together a remarkable book vividly portraying her remarkable story. The book is entitled "From Osborne House to Wheatfen Broad, Memoirs of Phyllis Ellis"

Suzie Hanna, the youngest daughter, talks to Mike Stevens about her mother..

The book, at £10, is published by Wheatfen Books and is available locally from Jarrolds  and The Book Hive.
