History of the Norwich Shoe Trade

By Mike Stevens - Posted on 19 February 2012

Frances and Michael Holmes are members of Norwich Heritage Projects and have already written two informative, and entertaining, books published about Norwich Market and the History of Norwich Pubs. Their latest project is to tell the story of shoe manufacture in Norwich. This was once a huge industry employing thousands of people right up to the 1960's when forein imports put an end to years of local craftsmanship.

Frances and Michael talk to Mike Stevens about this fascinating story and their quest for information that may be around in family archives.
