A great show Richard..... once again it has led me down some new paths to explore: I'd heard of and maybe in the fuzzy parts of the past heard one thing by The Poozies - but the song you played by them blew me away. As an enormous XTC fanatic I have now got hear their cover of 'Farmboys Wages'
Just prior to listening to the show I was listening to Jim Morays cover of All you Pretty Girls, which in turn was played because I had played XTC's 'Wrapped in Grey' just before, so there was a nice bit of seredipity hearing you waxing about the splendour that is Andy Partridge. Once Ive finished typing this it's The Disappointed that is calling - don't you just love the Dave Mattacks drumming on this. I read somewhere that having brought in one of the country's best drummers in for the session PArtridge then preceded to instruct him on every beat and break. It was only Mattack's enormous love of XTC and respect for AP that stopped him walking out of the studio.....
Really enjoyed the interview with Karen Tweed - who I am afraid had passed me by until today - Particularly enjoyed the second live performance too - great stuff!
Thanks again for a great show
