Future Radio is 3!
Friday August 6th saw the 3rd birthday of Future Radio, marking 3 years of full time broadcasting since we launched back in 2007.
With the recent relaunch and frequency change we decided to keep things fairly 'low key' this time round, but we'd like to thank all our supporters, listeners, volunteers and friends who have all contributed to our first (successful) 3 years on air.
Here's to many more on our new licence and frequency!

Future Radio Relaunches on 107.8FM
Friday July 2nd saw the official relaunch of Future Radio 107.8FM, and the end of transmissions on our old frequency.
At 8.30am, Terry Lee (hosting an extended 5 hour relaunch show) signalled the end of 96.9FM with a 'funeral song', which was provided by the Sex Pistols 'God Save The Queen'. As the song faded James Bensley and Station Manager Tom Buckham pulled the plug on our old transmitter, and the sounds of Primal Scream 'Moving on Up' officially launched Future Radio 107.8FM.

The organisation, which includes Norwich community radio station Future Radio, originally provided two volunteer youth workers on the streets of Earlham after reports of antisocial behaviour hit the headlines.
The charity now employs 47 people and has 5,000 registered users. It has also helped children receive life-changing full time education.

John Peel's Shed
John Peel's Shed is a new 5 part series for Future Radio presented by Radio Head author John Osborne.
In 2002 John Osborne won a competition on John Peel's Radio 1 show. His prize was a box of 150 records from John Peel's own collection. This series of shows features the best tracks from those records and starts on Sunday 2nd May at 9pm, and will air every Sunday throughout the month. Podcasts of all the shows will also be available at the Future Radio website.
