Sunday 30th Nov saw Team Future take part in the illustrious Larking Gowen 2008 City of Norwich Half Marathon. Representatives from across the schedule ran their socks off, covering 13 miles, that’s 21.0975 kilometers, to complete the course!
Runners included Community Chest’s Alison Turner and NR5 Drive’s Alex Brickham. Putting her coordinating skills to good use was Future Radio’s Volunteer coordinator and NR5 Drive presenter, Simone Hayes, who not only jogged her way around the course, but kept all of our daring DJs in check. Bringing the total up to 5 was Station Manager Tom Buckham who also had his running shoes on.
Breakfast DJ, Terry Lee, out of the race due to his recent knee operation, was confined to the sidelines, but cheered on the Future Radio Marathoners along with an array of supporters.
And support came not just in the form of shouts and whoops. Over the past few weeks generous listeners have flocked to Future Radio’s ‘justgiving’ page to sponsor our runners, helping us to leave our target amount far behind us and reach the fabulous total of £643.
