Scraps
We started our musical journey as a 3 piece busking girl band, playing hits from The Beatles to The Undertones. This led us to writing our own music, which has been described as "charming" and "unique". We feel our genre mixes folk and twee pop with a soulful edge, and we have been inspired by artists such as; Kimya Dawson, Beirut, Frank Zappa, and Whitney Houston. We write songs describing deep trials and tribulations of our lives, for example, "Rat Parade", "Nightsnatcher" and "My mum makes me bike in the rain". We use various collections of instruments, including, glockenspeil, melodica, ukulele and even a kazoo from time to time. We believe our recordings do not show our true potential, as when we play live, we are lucky to have two good friends join us as very special guests, Hector, an expert drummer, and Bertie, a wonderful trumpet player! Known as "the little sisters of Norwich", we play in many different venues, from small intimate gigs at the Birdcage, to lively nights at the Arts Centre with the likes of The Research and Jeremy Warmsley. Recently we had a brilliant opportunity to perform at one of London's biggest Twee nights at the Buffalo Bar. Having been told our music could bring world piece, we think we worthy of being a part of this years NEXT BIG THING!
