Ankhatoum El'ohim

By Simone Hayes - Posted on 05 October 2010

My name is Ankhatoum El'ohim

I play guitar, sing and write my own music. I perform solo, although I can play in a band and teach music too.

I call my music AIC-Articulated Instructive Compassion. It can also stand for many things such as Adventurous Informed Creativity or Advanced Inner Communication. It turns the negative power of CIA on its head and shows where they got the original name from.

My music is not influenced by other people, rather it is inspired and informed by my own life.

As a child I grew up in Lower Nubia (Uganda) during the modern scramble for Africa. Against my will I became a child soldier. I have starved in a food aid camp, lost both my parents and acquired PTSD as a result of my experience. For me music is more than a commodity. It is my culture and was brought into this world by my ancestors. I use it to exorcise demons and uplift angels

I do not compete with anyone else. Only I can do what I do, I am entering the competition to get recognition.
