Ted Ellis was well known locally and nationally as a naturalist through his articles and broadcasts on radio & television. Supporting him was his wife Phyllis with whom they brought up five children at their home at Wheatfen Broad near Surlingham in Norfolk. Living in often very basic circumstances they brought the life of the Fen to a wider audience and their work continues today under the auspices of the Ted Ellis Trust.
