Norwich City 5 - 1 Bristol Rovers - 5 ALIVE, AND ALL IS FANTASTIC AGAIN!!

The week has been awesome one for the canaries. 9 goals scored at home, 7 points from three games one of those playing with ten men.
All of the above are fantastic, but it is something else which came back today to carrow road?
It was the canary fans. The belief returned today and so did the choruses of “Up the football league we go, and when we win the title this what we will sing, Lambert is our king.”
The goals started to return as well. Return they did today with 4 goals before half time with the highlight being Martin’s sharp free kick opener.
Bristol Rovers for their part in the game was nothing more than a cameo role, as it was the canaries’ day and take nothing away from Lamberts yellow and green army as the pirates sit 3rd in division 1!
Lambert kept by his word “Once a player gets a starting place in the team it’s up to them to keep it.”
Forster now available after his harsh sending off at Gillingham was given a place on the bench, and Rudd was given the nod to carry on the good work. Chris Martin was rewarded for his good rich of scoring form with a starting place.
Martin took the chance with one of his best games for Norwich in a long time since his shocking birth and run of form under Peter Grant. Not forgetting the opening goal a fantastic free kick 20 yards from goal to which he smashed home after 9 minutes.
Martin said it was something he fancy when asked by team mate Lappin “Simon asked me if I wanted to have a crack, and I just felt confident something good would happen. It’s not like I practise every day just something now and again I like to have crack at.”
That kicked things into gear for the canaries that never really looked back. One man who has never looked back since his move in the summer is Grant Holt who walked through the pirates for his 2nd goal of the game, then took every pleasure in the easy chance from everyone else missing the ball from Lappin’s corner just to smash in.
In-between those two goals from Holt there were two soft penalties’s given by the referee. The first was awarded to Bristol Rovers, Kaffour wriggled around in the box under the bodyguard of Askou, who was judged to have clipped him. Hughes scored the spot kick to level the game against the run of the game.
Then at the other end Hoolahan did the same thing. The kick when finally taken was a good finish in the right hand corner. Hoolahan was sure only one person was taking the spot kick and that was him “I was always going to take it. Granty looked at me and gave me the nod so there was no way I was handing the ball to anyone else.”
Lambert did not dampen the spirit “I'm delighted with the players; with the crowd; delighted for everybody at the football club. They're the ones that deserve the credit.”
What about the nature of the win? “It's brilliant to win and if you can do it with a bit of finesse – great,”
Now a break in the week from league action with cup business resumed on Tuesday at Gillingham, watch out also for the top billed clash with Leeds coming up also.
