In need of a body clock rub-down...
‘It’s a marathon, not a sprint’ would have been rubbish advice for me last Thursday – I was well aware that there was no sprint when it came to 27 hours of being on air. Thankfully, no one passed on such advice to me, and all the advice I did get on staying awake all that time was effective!
The Marathon Broadcast was the most challenging thing I have done on the radio for sure, but I enjoyed every minute of it (1620 minutes I believe). A thousand thank yous for everyone who was involved/said hello/helped in some way. It was brilliant to work with/for you. My favourite bit was most probably Community Chest and all the great guests! But notable mentions go out to my live performers Console Wars and Jess Morgan, DJ78 who came in, Team Breakfast for a fantastically eclectic evening, and Wil from Distortion for the offensive radio bit. Also thanks to everyone who helped with the tricky overnight bits – most notably Bensley for actually being here ALL night with me, but the guests too (The Brownies, Dr Neil Stanley on the phone, Mike Stevens, Eamonn, the listeners who were still texting in v late!!) helped keep me sane. I slept well when I got home…
A quick well done to all the runners too from Sunday. Toby, Tom, Alison, Brickham, Wee Willy, Simone – they ran so we didn’t have to. And I did the 27 hours so I didn’t have to run. All in all – they’re better than me.
Today’s show was interesting! First I found out about the sound pillows. They sound hardcore. If I can get hold of some a competition is a cert. It would probably be the best prize ever. Maybe I should get some Terry Lee Breakfast Show Sound Pillows made up?? Would anyone want one???
I also found out a lot about ‘legal highs’ today. A controversial topic but one I thought would be best covered by a show like ours. If you ever think my topics are too controversial or even lame, do shout my way please! I love the feedback, and this is ultimately a show driven by the people, the community if you will.
Right, I am going to shoot off home, there’s decorating to be done in the back bedroom before me and Nellie can move back in, and presently we can’t get in the airing cupboard for all the clutter so I need to get to work there!
Thanks again for your support. Radio love to you all,
TLx

Sound pillows? I have images of pillows with your face on them connected to a little FM radio pre-tuned to 96.9. I'm not sure Nellie would approve of so many people waking up next to you though.
