Eamonn's Blog: Norwich Titantic Update

By Eamonn Burgess - Posted on 10 April 2009

Hello again,

the pace is hotting up on the film of Norwich's Titanic . I now have a camera, a story and names for the leading characters. They will be called Posh Totty and Bohemian Hunk. Bohemian Hunk will tell Posh Totty of his dream to have bright blue recycling bins on the streets of norwich-bearing in mind this is the '80s on a bus that goes through the Golden Triangle, this will strike Posh Totty as pure fantasy.

I have a persion with a recording studio looking into adapting the Bernard Cribbins song Digging this Hole to sound like a Duran Duran song-perfect to replace the hymn Nearer My God to Thee performed by the string quartet as the ship sinks.

All offers of any help apart form money will be acepted and incorporated into the production.

I have made the bus. It is made from cardboard boxes gaffer taped together with holes for windows. Painted with white undercoat and topped off with red enamel paint. I have pictures of me making it which will be added to the blog as soon as I get a grown up to help me upload the pix to the blog. My employer wants me to do something for a homeless action day, so little do they know it yet, but I will do something that involves blagging their camera for this project, thus keeping the no-budget status in tact.

And now the props departmant is on board for the Norwich Titanic film. We have been to Somerfield in Earlham Precinct by bike and carried loads of cardboard away qwhich will be used to make a 'Binskin' and dress a council blue wheelie bin as a double decker bus. This will take place this weekend. The puddles in the precinct remain empty of fresh concrete or tarmac, so the prime location and source of props materials and bane of meusli belt's existence just keeps on supporting the film time after time.
