Happy New Year Everyone!

The Christmas period sure was a hectic one for everyone involved at Future. It always is. So many seasonal specials, lots of days with minimal live shows – it’s supposed to be a peaceful time but for us radio staff it’s a puzzle to solve; What shows go where? When do we start playing the Christmas tunes? Who’s going to be on call over Christmas? And other more mundane questions.
I think it’s fair to say Simone and I were both pulling our hair out at some point. Station Manager Tom was also ‘pleased for the break’ when it did come.

I do hope everyone enjoyed our eclectic festive schedule! Specials, one-offs, occasional repeat programmes - we did them all!

What presents did everyone get this year I wonder? I got a mountain bike from Nellie, which is a bit special. Simone got a new phone. Wendy (our advertising/marketing lady – she’ll give you good advertising rates!) got a ‘Teasmaid’ which wakes you up with a cup of tea. Pretty inspired invention that.

Now we are in January expect Future Radio to get bigger and better! Great music a-plenty, special guests, more audience interaction. As ever spread the word and we can help this station grow even more this year. There really is something for everyone, and a role for you all here too (be it a presenter, behind the scenes, technical support, or member ‘Team Breakfast’!
