Another Overdue Future Update

By Terry Lee - Posted on 11 March 2010

Hello all,

A quick note as I think you deserve it. It’s been a relatively bust few weeks at Future Radio!

Firstly, Platform Unplugged is coming very soon! It’s a huge event at the Playhouse on Saturday March 20th, all the future crew will be there, and we’d love it if you were there too. There are tickets available at the playhouse box office. In the Future Radio office we are trying to organise making the show a good one! Hear those adverts on the airwaves with Stash and Kate? If they don’t make you want to go to the event I don’t know what will!!

Secondly, our broads features have been coming along nicely; our project with the Broads Authority continues into the Summer, listen to all the features on the broads page of the website. Part of my job is to oversee the broads content we are playing on the air – if any of you know of any broads based organisations or stories that you think could make great radio, give me a shout. I’m currently helping to put together a show which will broadcast from Whitlingham Broad on Monday 12th April from 10 to 1 – Tim Mac will be presenting and it should be a lot of fun!

Thirdly, I’ve really enjoyed the company of you guys in the mornings the last few days. I’ve particularly enjoyed having an established early crew interacting with the show from 7 to half past 7 – keep up the good work early birds. I may have to create a regular feature out of ‘songs being requested I don’t have’. It’s happening more and more.

Speaking of new features on breakfast – I’m considering organising a ‘listeners artist of the week’ feature for 9.40am. This would involve recording you guys introducing 5 songs by a certain artist, and doing one a day, and documenting it on the website… This would take a bit of organising, and getting some in the bank as it were – but it could happen for the relaunch…

Fourthly, the relaunch. Likely to happen in a month or two. That will be a very busy time! Watch this space for more info when we know it.

Cheers for now,

TLx
