New Frequencies & New Football Songs

Hello All,

A quick note with the latest news from Future Radio, and this is, as ever, overdue.

Since the election a month ago I have been mostly kept busy with one eye, ear and nostril on the relaunch and all that it means. If you haven’t already seen the news - www.futureradio.co.uk/relaunch is the webpage for the latest relaunch news. We can officially tell you that the new frequency will be 107.8fm, and that we will be testing our transmitter on that frequency from Weds 16th June. Our official relaunch date is Fri 2nd July, and the official time is 8.30am. It will mark a new chapter in the history of Future Radio, and I am delighted and proud to be the one presenting at this special time too (I was lucky enough to be on-air for our full-time launch). You’ll hear a lot more about it in the next couple of weeks too – through this website, facebook, twitter, and of course on air.

Speaking of facebook – did you know you can follow The Terry Lee Breakfast Show now? Please do – like the show itself the more people who get involved the better. Find it on www.facebook.com/terryleefuture. 

Regarding the new logos, new merchandise etc – expect to see new hoodies and t-shirts and mugs soon! Also expect to hear a lot more about car-stickers soon – I think we will be organising a mass mail out so you can help us advertise our changeover. It’s a MUST HAVE for your vehicle.

For those asking about the latest new on the Official Future World Cup Song – me and Wee Willy have been laying down some vocals, spitting some rhymes, and frankly acting that England yobs in Future Studios to get a perfect chorus… Soon the finished product will be getting play after play and it’ll have you asking ‘Three Lions? What’s that?!’ Hopefully it will raise a smile to your lips come this World Cup time. Expect an official first airing soon. Very soon.

Finally – Dman (regular listener and contributor) got in touch recently. He’s organised a fund raising ball for the N&N Hospital Neonatal Unit on the 11th June at the Sutton Staithe Hotel from 7:30 onwards. Tickets are £15.00 in advance and need to be bought by 5th June 2010. There will be live music from local band "Chibber", buffet, raffle etc. If anyone is interested, please contact Louise on 01692 584967.
