Drag Me To Hell Competition- TODAY!

Afternoon film fans!

Today Toby and I will be having a good old chin wag about the horrir genre after the brand new Sam Raimi horror Drag Me To Hell and Swedish vampire flick Let the Right One In hit the big screens in the last month.

To celebrate the Spiderma director's return to the genre in which he first found fame (Evil Dead I and II), we have a superb prize to give away, courtesy of Cinema City. We will be giving away-

Stagnant; A feature length film to be made on our doorstep.

This afternoon, I had the great pleasure of meeting Gordon Smith; local author and (soon-to-be) filmmaker. we were chatting about Stagnant- a comedy horror that he, as part of Fear Driven Films, are hoping to start shooting in August. The film is set on the Norfolk Broads, and will follow a group of chaps on a stag do on the broads that turns sour when a mysterious lady appears and turns the mood from cheer to fear.

March 12th- National Alfred Hitchcock Day....apparently.

So apparently on Thursday March 12th it was Alfred Hitchcock Day. This is not an official day in any way, shape or form, but as faithful believers in the Master of Suspense -who has incidentally been rated by many as the best filmmaker of all time- who are we to poo poo this celebration.

That said, we will be talking about Hitchcock this week! Discussing the highs and lows (are there any lows?) of his career, his move from the UK to Hollywood, the lesser known gems, the iconic scenes and themes and so an and so forth...
