DJ78's Blog number 1 - Breakfast and Alex James...

Howdy all!

Having been up since 5am in order to present the Breakfast Show in Terry's abscence, I'm probably going to ramble, but I thought I'd share the events of an exciting morning with you lovely people...

Being first in to the NR5 projects building was a strange experience - it's like a ghost ship that plays music to itself - station manager Tom very kindly came in early and showed me which buttons did what, then left me to it.

Apart from a couple of early hiccups, it all seemed to go well - thank you to all those people who messaged in during the show with words of encouragement, requests and some handy volume advice!

The highlights for me were the debut radio play anywhere in the world of 'Death Of Death Of Discotheque' - a new band who I predict will be huge, and an airing of 'I Don't Want To Live With Monkeys', by Charlie (Fast Show/Young James Bond) Higson's old band, The Higsons (natch).

During the show, Tom sent through a link to one of the lead stories on the Evening News website, which turned out to be about my upcoming 'Shellac Shake' show on Sunday 14th June at 9am, featuring special guest Alex James from Blur! Make sure you listen live, or on the 'Listen Again' section, which may even be a podcast...

Right - I'm off to grab a nap before a busy weekend DJ-ing in Suffolk.

Pip Pip!
