*Forthcoming* At 12 Am Saturday 05/06/2010 - Disco/Soul Special
Hi,
Due to a technical error resulting in last week's Bank Holiday Show not going to air, apologies to you if you tuned in and wondered what was going on.
I will be repeating this show for you, please see the original details below:
Hi,
Tonight at 12 AM (Saturday 05/06/2010) on my regular show, A Step Back In Time Show. I am pleased to be playing a one off special show for the weekend and have really dug in my collection, playing some very early dance/ disco classics and rarities. Returning to the early days of the Paradise Garage/ Loft/ The Warehouse when the dance djs we know today as Frankie Knuckles, David Mancuso and Larry Levan started and harking back to the original Soul Weekends. I have a feeling that this show will be well received as I have had numerous personal requests for such a show and rarely do you hear these tracks played anymore. I would love to have played more, but I have had to cram as much in to the hour format. Thanks also to my mum for raiding her house to grab a lot of the tracks that I have but do not have room for in my own house in my old wardrobe! So for some serious disco/ dance/ soul reminiscing join me at midnight Saturday night/ Sunday morning 06/06/2010. If JFM/ LWR/ The Original Kiss 94 FM/ Joy and Pain/ Saturday nights at Caister/ all- dayers/ Froggy/Giles Peterson/ Robbie Vincent/ Chris Hill/ Greg Edwards/ Joey & Norman Jay Good Times/ Notting Hill Carnivals/ The Goldmine/ The Lacy Lady/ Disco divas and Soul Boys/ Puma States/ Diadora/ Farah/ Raleigh Choppers bring back good memories then tonight’s show is for you… If you don’t remember but are curious to hear the tracks that defined and shaped the dance scene that we know and love today then tune in. Or, if you just want to hear these gems in their full versions, uninterrupted, then join me at 12 midnight. Right I am off to put up the glitter ball and grab my dancing shoes…. Enjoy! DJ Sterling (Ps If there is enough response to this then I may upload the show as a pod cast, Management allowing, so drop me a line via my profile home page if you can’t make the party.)
