New Single Review : "Love Is Ending" by The Charlatans Released August 2nd
"Love Is Ending" by The Charlatans Released August 2nd
Indie veterans return! "Love Is Ending" is the new single, and it is very much A SINGLE. Enjoyable enough, even if a little disposable. It does chugg along at a pleasing rate of knots. Almost Ash like ever so occasionally. A mid-paced verse with some subtle backing vocal assistance for Tim Burgess. Then a driving guitar laden chorus. Mellow middle eight. A decent single but it may leave some a little underwhelmed. 20 years after their debut album was released, their new LP "Who We Touch" is upon us. "Love Is Ending" clearly shows some of the quality they have that's meant they've managed to outlast the rest. But, like an ageing footballer, they've had to modify their game to get by. You may look back at their glory days, but as long as they're still producing... Judge for yourselves when they come to the UEA on 21st Octcober.
